On Days I Have Acupuncture, My Pain Goes Away

I started by seeing Dr. Sudhir Rao for my Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) Syndrome. I had an accident in July 2010 that caused nerve damage in my ankle. After treatments and surgery, it spread up the entire left side of my body. The only way to describe how you feel is by saying you’re a human pinball machine you just never know where the pain is going to be that minute. I had asked about acupuncture because someone had told me that it worked for them. I was at the point of trying anything to lessen the pain because it was getting worse every day.

I had my 1st acupuncture appointment and spoke with Dr. Jyothi Rao about my condition. I told her about all the areas that were in pain, and she worked her magic. We talked about her over-seeing me as a patient, and we discussed a new medication that could help with my RSD. On days I have acupuncture, my pain goes away. Whenever my acupuncture session is done Dr. Rao always asks how I feel and if it helped with my pain. I recall one time that my neck was the only part that didn’t feel any better, and she asked if I wanted to go back in and do that area again.

They also ran blood tests on me to see what allergic reactions I have to foods. These foods can cause inflammation, which is a part of my RSD. The test also showed that I am deficient in certain vitamins and need supplements every day. Eleni has gone above and beyond her job to make sure I am set up with my supplements and had them shipped to my house for me. Kelly is always so helpful and explains everything I need to know. Melissa is sweet and kind, and she puts a smile on your face even when your pain is unbearable.

Dr. Rao and her staff are the most loving, caring ladies to deal with, and they go out of their way to help you feel better. I’m so lucky to have found such a wonderful caring doctor that will go to great lengths to make you better. They are my new family and that’s exactly how they treat you.
