When we think about athletic training, we usually think about grueling workouts, seemingly endless reps, and sweat, lots of sweat. But smart athletes know that a strong post-workout recovery is just as important as the training itself.

Recovery is, as the name implies, the period of time your body needs to get back to its normal state. When you work out, your heart rate increases (especially during cardio) and muscles strain and experience micro-tears (especially during strength training).
