I met with Ben last week, and we reviewed the data from the VO2 max test. It confirmed my suspicion that my body does not use fat very efficiently. In fact, over a heart rate of 160, I am fueled 100% by. Probably due to so many years of a low fat diet, combined with constant riding at too high an intensity. After getting the Neutraeval and info from the Vo2 max and RMR, I put myself on a diet that was recommended by Shakthi.. At this point I am eating allot of healthy fats, vegetables, and meats; low glycemic carbs when riding at higher intensity. I will be adding the carbs back in slowly as I see how my body responds. I have also learned about how valuable proper fats are in the absorption on key vitamins and minerals, so I am hopeful this, along with the supplementation you recommended, will improve my fatigue and sleeping problems. At any rate, I will want to have my blood re tested in about a month, and probably the VO2 max as well. It will be interesting to see the results, but already I feel so much better! Thanks again for your help!
